TL;DR

  • We collect your Google account info and YouTube data to analyze your audience
  • We store reference images you upload for thumbnail generation
  • We use AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google to analyze your channel and create thumbnails
  • We collect feedback you submit to improve our service
  • We don't sell your data. We share it with service providers that process it for us to run autokliq (section 6) and with AI assistants you connect yourself
  • You can delete your account and data anytime
  • We research some creators' public YouTube channels for marketing and send samples to creators who ask for them. Sections 8 and 8-2 explain what we keep and how to ask us to delete it

1. Information We Collect

When you use autokliq, we collect the following information:

  • Account Data: Email address, name, and profile picture via Google OAuth
  • YouTube Channel Data: Videos, comments, and analytics data from your connected YouTube channel
  • Reference Images: Images you upload for thumbnail generation
  • Generated Content: Thumbnails and project data we create for you
  • Usage Data: Session information, feature usage, and interaction patterns
  • Website Visits: When you view a public page, we record the page, language, device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), the domain of the site that sent you, and the source tags of an ad link. Nothing that identifies you or your device is included. The source of your first visit is kept in a 30-day cookie and recorded with your account when you sign up; signing in clears the cookie.
  • Emails We Send: Which service emails we sent you (for example, that your first thumbnails are ready), when, and whether they were delivered. Each link in such an email carries a code that belongs to that email: when you open it, our site records when it was opened and which page it led to, so we can see whether the email was useful. We don't track whether you open an email, and we put no tracking images in it. You can turn these emails off in Settings → Email.
  • Feedback Data: Bug reports, feature requests, satisfaction ratings, and other feedback you voluntarily submit

2. Feedback Collection

To improve autokliq, we offer various ways for you to provide feedback including a feedback widget, satisfaction ratings, and forms for bug reports and feature requests. This feedback collection is optional and voluntary.

When you submit feedback, we may collect:

  • Your feedback content and sentiment rating
  • Page context (which page you were on)
  • Browser and device information for bug reports
  • Your account information (if logged in)

Lawful Basis: We process feedback data based on our legitimate interest in improving our service. Feedback is retained for 24 months, then anonymized.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the autokliq service
  • Generate AI-powered audience analysis using your YouTube data
  • Create AI-generated thumbnail concepts
  • Communicate service updates and important notices
  • Monitor and improve service performance

4. Google API Services & Limited Use Disclosure

autokliq's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

autokliq uses YouTube API Services. By connecting your YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Specifically, autokliq:

  • Uses Google user data only to provide and improve the autokliq thumbnail generation and channel analysis service
  • Does not use Google user data to serve advertisements
  • Does not sell Google user data to third parties
  • Does not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the autokliq service (the providers listed in section 6, and an AI assistant only when you connect one yourself, see section 7), comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition after notice to users
  • Does not use Google user data for any purpose other than providing the autokliq service
  • Does not allow humans to read Google user data unless you have given explicit permission, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law

YouTube API Scopes requested and why:

  • youtube.readonly — Used to retrieve your channel details, video list, titles, descriptions, and existing thumbnails. This data powers the thumbnail generation context so that AI can produce thumbnails matched to your content.
  • yt-analytics.readonly — Used to retrieve channel performance metrics (views, watch time, average view duration, subscriber changes) for the last 30 days. This data is displayed in your channel dashboard to help you understand what content performs well.
  • youtube.force-ssl — Optional; requested only when you turn on “YouTube access”. Used for two things on your own channel: reading the captions of your own videos (including unlisted and private ones) so thumbnail ideas match what the video says, and setting a thumbnail you chose and confirmed on one of your videos. The video’s previous thumbnail is saved so you can undo the change.

Without YouTube access, autokliq uses read-only access. With YouTube access turned on, the only change autokliq makes on your channel is setting the thumbnail of a video you choose, each time you confirm it. We never delete, upload, or change any other content on your YouTube channel.

5. AI/ML Model Training Disclosure

autokliq sends data to AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, listed in section 6) to analyze your channel and generate thumbnail concepts. When generating thumbnails, your video title, description, and channel context (obtained via youtube.readonly) may be sent to these providers as input. autokliq:

  • Does not use YouTube API data to train, fine-tune, or improve any generalized or foundational AI or ML model
  • Uses YouTube API data only to generate personalized thumbnail concepts for the specific user's own channel — within that user's autokliq session (public channel information about creators we research for marketing is used only as described in section 8)
  • Does not aggregate, anonymize, or derive datasets from YouTube API data for any AI/ML training purpose

This use complies with the Limited Use requirements of Google's API Services User Data Policy. The use of raw or derived user data received from YouTube APIs will not be used to create, train, or improve a foundational or generalized AI/ML model.

6. Third-Party Services

Service providers that process data for us to run autokliq include:

  • Google OAuth: For secure authentication
  • OpenAI API: For text analysis and writing (channel and audience analysis, including your viewers' comments; concept text; quality checks; the in-app assistant) and for image generation and editing (GPT Image models). It receives your brief, channel context and the reference images used for a thumbnail.
  • Anthropic API (Claude): For writing thumbnail concepts from your brief, channel context and audience analysis
  • Google Gemini API: For transcribing a YouTube video (Gemini receives the video's link) when we cannot read your own captions, so concepts match what the video says
  • YouTube Data API v3: To read your channel content and videos; with YouTube access turned on, also to read your own captions and set a thumbnail you confirm
  • YouTube Analytics API v2: To read your channel performance metrics (read-only)
  • Cloudflare R2: For secure image storage
  • Sentry: For error monitoring and service reliability
  • Stripe: To process subscription payments (we never see or store your full card number)
  • Google Workspace (Gmail): To send service emails, such as when your thumbnails are ready
  • Google Cloud: To host the app and run background jobs such as thumbnail generation
  • Neon: To host our database (your account, channel and project data)
  • Slack: For internal notifications to our team about account activity, such as your name, sign-up and usage milestones

7. AI Assistants You Connect (MCP)

You can connect an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex to your autokliq account through our official MCP server, by signing in with autokliq (OAuth) or with a personal access token you create in Settings → Connect agents. Nothing is shared with an assistant until you connect it.

Within the permissions you grant, a connected assistant can receive:

  • Your plan, credit balance and connected YouTube channels
  • Your channel brief: brand style, the rules you set, and audience personas derived from your viewers' comments and analytics
  • Your videos and their statistics (views, comment counts, click-through rate)
  • Your projects: briefs, concepts, titles, and links to generated thumbnail images
  • Topic ideas, with the other channels' public videos they are based on

What the assistant receives is then handled by its provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) under that provider's terms and privacy policy. You start this transfer by connecting the assistant.

Steps that spend credits run only after you approve them, or within an auto-approve budget you set for that connection. We store connection tokens only as SHA-256 hashes; access tokens expire after one hour and refresh tokens after 30 days, and personal access tokens last until you revoke them.

We keep a log of each connection's actions (which action, its outcome and any credits spent, not the content) so you can review them in Settings: free actions for 90 days, paid actions for one year. Routine checks on a running job's status are not logged.

To disconnect an assistant, revoke it in Settings → Connect agents; it stops working immediately. Deleting your account removes every connection and its log.

8. Creators We Research for Marketing

This section applies to creators who have not signed up for autokliq. To find possible customers, our team researches public YouTube channels, mostly those of Korean creators.

  • What we collect: Public channel and video information from the YouTube Data API: the channel's name, handle, profile image, country, language and creation date, its subscriber and video counts, and the titles, upload dates, view counts and lengths of recent videos. We also keep the channel ID, our team's notes and analysis of the channel, and a record of any contact with you. We hold business contact details only if you published them for business inquiries or gave them to us: a team member enters them by hand, or you enter them yourself on the sample request page (section 8-2).
  • Why we use it: To judge whether autokliq fits your channel, to prepare a personalized review of your channel with sample thumbnails, and to contact you about autokliq. Sample thumbnails are made by AI without any person's face and are labeled as AI-generated. If you open a link we sent you or later sign up, we connect that visit or account to this record to see whether our outreach worked.
  • What we never do: We never collect contact details automatically. We don't sell this information or use it to train AI models, and we never put your face, name, logo or likeness in samples.
  • Service providers: The providers listed in section 6 (for example Google Cloud, Neon and OpenAI) process this information for us.
  • How long we keep it: The YouTube Data API information we keep for this purpose is refreshed or deleted within 30 days. Everything else stays until you ask us to stop, to delete it or not to contact you. We then delete this information and keep only a do-not-contact marker (a one-way hash of your channel ID and contact details) so we never contact you again.
  • Your rights: You can ask us where we got your information and why we use it, ask us to stop using it or delete it, and opt out of any contact from us. Email us at the address in section 15.

8-2. Creators Who Request a Sample

This section applies to creators who request thumbnail samples on autokliq.com's sample request page without signing in. Only people aged 14 or older may apply.

  • What we collect: the email address and YouTube channel address you type, when you requested and confirmed, the items you agreed to and the version of the notice you saw, a one-way hash of your email address, and how you arrived (the link's utm values and the referring domain). To make the samples we get the channel's public information from the YouTube Data API as in section 8. The request record holds no IP address; a hash of it is used only to limit repeated requests and is deleted within two days.
  • Why we use it: to send the confirmation email, and to make the samples you asked for and email them to you once. Only if, when you confirmed, you agreed both to promotional use and to receiving advertising do we email you news about autokliq's new features and offers. Our team gets an internal notice (Slack) that a request came in, without your email address or channel.
  • How long we keep it: for a request you don't confirm, we delete your email and channel address after 3 days and keep only a hash, which stops repeated requests from the same address, for 30 days. Your email address is deleted 30 days after we send the samples (or after your latest reply, if we keep writing to each other), or 60 days after you confirm if we never send them. An address we already held as a business contact follows section 8. If, when you confirmed, you agreed both to promotional use and to receiving advertising, we keep it until you withdraw, and delete it before 2 years have passed since you agreed (unless you agree again before then). We send the confirmation and the samples with Google Workspace Gmail, so a copy of each sent email stays in the sending mailbox; that copy is deleted too if you ask. YouTube Data API information is refreshed or deleted within 30 days. The request record (when you requested and confirmed, the items and text version you agreed to, a hash of your email address) is kept as proof of consent for 3 years after the request ends, and deleted earlier together with the rest of section 8 if you ask.
  • Transfers abroad and processors: your email address and the request record are sent over the network to servers in the United States when you apply, and stored and processed there for the periods above, by Google LLC (Google Cloud in Iowa runs the service; Google Workspace Gmail sends the confirmation and the samples) and Neon (the database, AWS us-west-2, Oregon). We never send your email address to the AI model providers in section 6. If you don't want this transfer, don't apply; you then can't receive samples.
  • Your rights: you can ask us at any time to stop processing or delete your information, or withdraw a consent: use the unsubscribe link in an advertising email, the withdraw button on the screen where you confirmed, the "I didn't ask for this" link in the confirmation email, or email the address in section 15. We then delete the information and keep only a one-way hash of your email address on our do-not-contact list. If the person who runs the channel asks, we keep a hash of its channel ID there as well.

9. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained until you request deletion
  • OAuth Tokens: Until revoked or 90 days of inactivity
  • Reference Images: Until you delete them
  • Generated Thumbnails: 90 days
  • Credit Transactions: 7 years (tax compliance)
  • Feedback Data: 24 months, then anonymized
  • Email Records: Until you delete your account

10. Data Security

We protect your data with:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Secure cloud storage via Cloudflare R2
  • Session-based authentication with secure cookies
  • Regular security monitoring and updates

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Revoke YouTube access at any time
  • Request a copy of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data

You can revoke autokliq’s access to your Google and YouTube data at any time on the Google security settings page. Revoking stops all further access; you can also disconnect your channel inside autokliq.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us (see Contact Us below). We respond within the time required by applicable law. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Children's Privacy

autokliq is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal data we collect about you
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Opt-out of the sale of your personal data (we do not sell personal data)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email.
